Skin health is very important and many of us do look after our skin by moisturising it and exfoliating it daily; but how often do we keep an eye on our moles? We run a mole clinic at Mallucci London to keep your skin healthy.
Moles are small clusters of coloured skin cells which are located all over the body on the surface of the skin and are usually harmless. However, they do need to be monitored so we can check that nothing untoward is developing, as occasionally it can be a sign of cancer.
How do you know to be suspicious of your moles?
- Colour change
- Changes to shape and/or size
- Is it sore, itchy or painful
- Is it catching on clothing and is raised
If you do have many moles on your body which are not necessarily suspicious, it is certainly advisable to make an appointment to get your moles checked out. This may well be purely for reassurance and to maintain optimum skin health.
Our dermatologist is a skin expert and is able to check your moles. There may be a need to removal your mole(s) at our mole clinic if they are suspicious looking or for aesthetic reasons. The dermatologist will decide if it is needed to be sent for Histology, and if so she will arrange immediate analysis. Our team of experts would then contact you as soon as we receive the results.
There are different methods for removing mole and this will be discussed in your consultation with your consultant.
