You will have an initial consultation with your Mallucci expert, during which we will ensure you’re a suitable candidate for treatment. (There may be other treatments we recommend for your unique skin goals.) The ideal patient will have some level of fine lines and wrinkles to be treated. Sofwave™ is suitable for all skin types, meaning anyone who wants to tighten the skin around the eye area, neck, jawline, cheeks or forehead can book in.

Your first appointment will begin with a consultation with your Mallucci expert. This is your chance to discuss what your goals are, so our team can map out the right treatment plan for your unique needs. Then a numbing cream will be applied, before the Sofwave™ therapy device is used to deliver ultrasound energy through the skin’s surface. This heats the mid-dermal tissue at just the right depth to rejuvenate collagen fibres. During this time, you will feel a warming sensation and may experience discomfort. 

Due to thermal contraction, it’s possible to see a tightening effect immediately after your first Sofwave™ session. The rebuilding of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid is also triggered right away. However, the process of rebuilding these takes around 3 months. That’s why you will see more noticeable firming results after 4-6 weeks, which continue to improve for up to 12 weeks. 

Most Sofwave™ patients will only need to book in for one treatment per year to achieve results. However, depending on how your skin responds, an additional session (6 months after your first) can sometimes be beneficial.

Downtime is minimal after a Sofwave™ treatment. Expect skin to appear slightly red for up to 30 minutes. You can leave the clinic and go about your day-to-day routine as normal.
